How to Ship and Store Wine

Shipping and storing wine questions are something that I get asked a lot, especially since many Floridians when visiting vineyards wish to take some bottles of their favorite wine home with them. Most airlines permit wine to be shipped as checked luggage, but must take every precaution to make sure bottles aren’t broken in transit.
It’s always a good idea to check with the airline first before purchasing wine to carry home. There will likely be additional charges for the extra luggage. If the airline allows it, the wine traveler will need to pack the wine securely. There are numerous products on the market in which to ship wine. The simplest arrangement is a cardboard box with specially-shaped Styrofoam inserts that fit standard wine bottles. These can usually be provided by the winery. There are also collapsible padded sleeves that wrap around individual bottles.The bonus with these is that you can take them with you on your wine vacation, and they are reusable.

Prince Harry Getting Naked Helps Sales of Rose Wine.

Well THERE’S a headline I never thought I’d write!
According to a recent article in the Drinks Business, it seems that the recent scandal of Prince Harry wearing his birthday suit whilst playing a game of pool, has helped wine sales for one UK wine merchant!
After details were revealed of the naked Las Vegas shenanigans of Prince Harry, Peter Creek, manager of Sheldon’s Wine Cellars in Shipston-on-Stour (England) did what any marketing savvy wine seller should do! He made a wine label out of it!
The appropriately titled “Royal Blush” features a painting (pictured above) by artist Dan Lacey, and has reportedly lead to a 200% increase in sales of the wine

My Thoughts…
Errrrm….I don’t know if I even have anything intelligent to say about this story. Everyone loves a Royal scandal though, and this one is ALMOST as good as that one time he dressed like a Nazi! I wonder why no-one made a wine label out of that…?
